Texas Community Colleges

Many students in the state of Texas elect to begin their studies at a public community or technical college. Students may complete two years of study and then transfer credits to a four year college or University for completion of their degree.  Transferring students should research which courses will be accepted at the college or university of your choice.

After May 2001, students who obtain an associate's degree from a community college and then transfer to a university within one year, may be eligible for the TEXAS Grant.  Students currently attending community colleges who are not eligible for the TEXAS Grant program, may be eligible for the Texas Educational Opportunity Grant Program (formerly TEXAS Grant II) (TEOG).
