Community Colleges
Many students in
the state of Texas elect to begin their studies at a public community
or technical college. Students may complete two years of study and then
transfer credits to a four year college or University for completion of
their degree. Transferring students should research which courses
will be accepted at the college or university of your choice.

For more information on transferring
credits visit the Transfer
Guide.
After May 2001, students who
obtain an associate's degree from a community college and then transfer
to a university within one year, may be eligible for the TEXAS
Grant. Students currently attending community colleges who are
not eligible for the TEXAS Grant program, may be eligible for the Texas
Educational Opportunity Grant Program (formerly TEXAS Grant II) (TEOG).
