Dyess Officers' Spouses' Club (OSC)

Description:

Non-renewable scholarships for a dependent child of an active duty, retired or deceased military member, or spouse of an active duty military member to attend a 4-year or Community College. Several scholarships will be awarded in each of the three categories as described below.

Students Eligible to Apply

Categories of Eligibility*:

1. Graduating high school senior who is the dependent child of an active duty, retired or deceased military member .

AND

2a. You attend high school in the Dyess AFB area in either a public high school, private high school or home school setting.

OR

2b. You have a parent or legal guardian assigned to Dyess AFB or one that resides in the Dyess AFB area.

AND

3. You have not applied for any other scholarship monies offered through another military spouse's program.

**Acceptance of any four year all expense paid scholarship to any college or university or an appointment to any Military Academy makes you in eligible to receive Dyess OSC scholarship.

Varies, several in each category listed above. Number of awards provided annually is based on the number of applicants.

Amount varies

Check with your counselor for applications and exact deadlines. Applications can also be picked up at the Family Support Center on Dyess Air Force Base, Heritage Club, the Hangar Center, Dyess Bowling Alley, Base Library, the Base Youth Center, Thrift Shop, the Base Education Office or an Abilene area high school.

Due to certain requirements and paperwork, Cooper and AHS deadlines MAY BE DIFFERENT (earlier) than the final deadlines on the DOSC applications in order to allow students ample time to complete. Check with your counselor for your high school deadline!
