Descriptions
This fund was established in 1982 and transferred to the Community Foundation in 1987 as one of the Foundation's first scholarships. It honors the Misses Tommie and Bobbie Clack for their Abilene teaching careers that spanned three generations. Clack scholarships are awarded annually to outstanding high school seniors in the Big Country based on exemplary record of academic excellence and leadership, and financial need. Application forms may be obtained from school counselor or downloaded below.
Students Eligible to Apply
A total of three scholarships (one from each designated school) shall be awared annually to eligible students from two of the three high schools in a rotating sequence: Abilene High School, Cooper High School,Wylie High. ( In 2006; Abilene High and Cooper are eligible; in 2007 Cooper High and Wylie are eligible; in 2008 Wylie High and Cooper High.)One scholarship shall be awarded to an eligible student from one of the three following high schools on a rotating basis: Jim Ned ISD, Merkel ISD, Trent ISD (In 2006, Jim Ned will be eligible.) In the event, no application is received from the designated school, then no award will be given to a rural school that year.

Due to certain requirements and paperwork, Cooper and AHS deadlines MAY BE DIFFERENT (earlier) than the final deadlines on the CFA applications in order to allow students ample time to complete. Check with your counselor for your high school deadline!
